The magic of Diwali!

Diwali is the season of sweets, crackers and especially fun, in child hood days (those are golden part of life, that I long for). As the years pass by, the festive mood started fading…and it became another day in life! That vigor in celebrating vanished not only in me but also in our gang (gang of four friends), we take diwali for granted. Due to the urge from the family members, we head out to purchase new raiment the penultimate day.

This diwali, the ordeal began @ 8:00 PM with a local shop and we tried out different attires, and most of the time we just had fun, pulling the others leg and making pun and passing on comments (like an experienced critique). During this course we realized that one of the guys was hesitant to get a shirt (as he fell short of cash, he had donated to an orphanage a day before! Not minding much about him) without hesitation one of the guys filled up.
Well everything went well, until two of us could not find a fitting jean! (The jean of our kind ;-), maybe) We searched until 11o clock and we were exhausted. As Ideas to head out to other shops at a distance of (5-10Kms) sprang up, but we decided to go without the jeans for this diwali.

Tired and exhausted we entered a cafe and had a decent dinner! (sumptuous one). Then we parted for the night, as I was returning home I bounced upon the shop on the way home (I normally do not head out this way!) and the collection was pretty decent, called up the guys to fall in and they did in quick time. By the time they arrived I had selected a couple of jeans of my taste. And finally, the other guy started searching for a jean similar to whatever I had selected, but in vain. As I had selected another one I decided to part itÂ… And said " Go ahead mams! It looks great on you!" Little did he realize that I had selected it (incase he had known he would have cooked up some dumb reason to do away withÂ…), finally we billed the jeans at 1:00A.M (on Diwali morning).

I was reminiscent of the incidents that happened this Diwali, it took me some time to realize that the festivities and celebrations are there to bring people closer and as an ultimate feat unveils the meaning of Living…Happy Diwali!
